DeCMR
From 5 October 2026 the Spanish road freight control document becomes digital. DeCMR also covers the consignment note, so the driver carries both documents they can be asked for in one place — and has to be able to show them at a roadside check even from a mountain pass without a single bar of signal. Hence the name: DeCA plus CMR.
It works with no signal
The current documents are stored on the device itself. With no connection the app still opens and shows the last downloaded version, with a discreet note that it is working from the local copy. What it never does is fail with a red error in the middle of a roadside check: it degrades, it does not crash.
One-tap inspection mode
A single large button pushes the screen to full brightness, disables the back gesture and shows the QR code that leads to the documents. It is designed so the phone can be handed to an officer without them being able to navigate into the rest of the app.
It does not track the driver
There is no background location, no maps and no position history. The only coordinate ever captured is the one at the moment of signing, and only if the signer switches it on themselves: it ships off, and if permission or signal is missing the signature still goes through. An employer cannot enable it remotely on anyone.
The PDF is produced on the phone
The document is typeset on the device by a typesetting engine compiled to native code, not on a server. That is what allows the PDF to be produced offline and kept under 5 MB, which is what makes it open instantly on an officer phone.
Two roles in the same app
The driver gets a passive viewer: nothing to edit, only to display. The traffic manager creates, edits and sends documents. An owner-operator is both at once, so they can issue their own document and show it from the same phone, depending on nobody.
